Boudro — Artists Profile

Interest in Boudro’s pieces is growing quickly. It has spread throughout Quebec and United States, and is now taking root in Europe.

This past decade, he has staged a dozen solo exhibits at such prestigious places as Stuben’s ( Madison Ave NY ) in 2001, on Wall Street in 2002, Novotel in New York City’s Times Square, and the international chain Accord, where one of his masterpieces now permanently commands the main lobby.

He has also been part of several juried group exhibits, twice at the United Nations, in 2002 and 2003. More than 20 corporate giants including Ketchum Advertising, Novotel, Safety First International, Club Med, Mc Donald’s, have purchased is works.

Recognized by his signature yellow New York cab, Boudro’s art consists mostly of caricature and American pop-art and he uses many post-modern techniques like collages and surrealism. His works are replete with pop culture icons and parodies on publicity. His pieces are visually stimulating, playful but not futile, accessible without succumbing to superficiality.

He list Warhol, Haring, Lichtenstein, Rauschenberg and Rosenquist among his strongest influences. His style artfully marries his pop roots to the surrealist through the use of unexpected juxtapositions and dreamlike composition. Art critics and consumers often find fantasy and humor, and an exuberant and vitalized graphic of brilliant colors.

Born in Sept-Îles, Quebec in 1967, Boudro is a self-taught artist who feeds his profession, style and reflection by reaching into his diverse experiences in marketing and artistic/industrial design, and by calling on his mastery of oil painting, sculpture and serigraphy techniques.

He works in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, where he lives with his wife and their two children.
