Nathan Macomber — Artists Profile
Nathan Macomber first blew glass at the Massachusetts College of Art in 1995. His education in glass also includes classes at the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, the Penland School of Arts and Crafts, and a self-designed B.A. from Prescott College which he received in 1999. Nathan has also taught dozens of individuals in private classes as a co-instructor for Prescott College. He has served as an instructor for the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass.
Nathan spent the first seven years of his career in glass working at Antonius Glass Studios in Prescott, Arizona. In the spring of 2002, he moved to his family’s old farm in the White Mountains of Conway, NH. There he has set up his own private studio where he can be found almost every day blowing glass, teaching, practicing his hobby of blacksmithing or maintaining the 100+ year old farm which has been in his family since 1949.
Nathan’s work can be seen in galleries throughout New England and Arizona. In the fall of 2003, a couple of his glass pumpkins were used on the set of the Today Show. In 2004, the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen named Nathan their Craftsperson of the Year.
